The Project
All Saints, Margaret Street required a new sound reinforcement system that would deliver exceptional speech clarity whilst preserving the architectural integrity of this Grade I listed church. The new system also needed to provide seamless integration with live streaming, offer greater flexibility for a variety of services, and remain simple for clergy and volunteers to operate.
The Solution
DM Music designed and installed a discreet, high-performance public address system tailored to the church's unique acoustic environment. Carefully positioned column loudspeakers were mounted using non-invasive fixings to existing architectural features, providing clear and intelligible sound throughout the nave, aisles and chancel without compromising the historic fabric of the building. The installation also included a comprehensive range of wired and wireless microphones, allowing flexible coverage for clergy, readers and visiting speakers, while dedicated microphones for the choir, organ and congregation significantly enhanced the quality of live-streamed services.
At the heart of the system is a modern digital audio processor with intuitive touchscreen and wireless control, enabling automatic recall of pre-programmed settings for different styles of worship. Independent audio mixes for the church, induction loop and live streaming ensure every audience enjoys an optimised listening experience, while a bespoke lockable AV desk provides an elegant and secure operating position that complements the surrounding interior.
The Result
All Saints Margaret Street now benefits from a discreet, future-ready audio system that combines outstanding speech intelligibility with intuitive operation and professional streaming capabilities. The installation respects the church's remarkable architecture while providing the flexibility and reliability needed to support daily worship, special services and larger ceremonial events.
