Warning!
We've given this section a warning because making the right choice when it comes to microphones is crucial to how your system performs.
It's all about choosing the right tool for the job - for example, you wouldn't use a hammer to screw in a screw! But don't worry, we're here to help make it easy, tel:

Here are some pointers and tips to help you choose the right microphone for the right job:
Use close up to the mouth or at arms length?
There are 2 general types of microphone available:
Dynamic mics
- for singers mostly -
use close to the mouth
- the closer the more bass. Very tough and robust mics. E.g. Sennheiser e840
Condenser mics
- multi purpose -
close up or at a distance (arms length)
. Also great when two or more people gather around a mic to sing - more prone to feedback squealing from the speakers NOTE: These require phantom power from the mixer or some have battery power. E.g. Audio Technica AT8033, Lectern mics, boundary mics etc.
