Mixers

At the centre of most PA systems will be the mixer. The control hub for all audio, in and out of the system. This is the control surface that most PA operatives will spend most of their time at, so it pays to make sure it measures up to your requirements.

When looking to buy a mixer keep in mind the following considerations…
Does it have enough inputs? Not just for now but consider any future expansion of the worship band!
Is it flexible enough with it's outputs? - For recording, aux/monitor outputs, induction loops etc.
Is it portable? You may need to mount the mixer in a 19" rack -don't forget to add rack mount 'ears' where required
Do you need a powered mixer? - this will include the amp in the console - nice and compact for transportation.
Do you have enough creative control with the graphic EQ? - handy for eliminating nasty feedback and 'tinniness'!
Do you need effects? - Add warmth and depth to vocals and instruments and create space and size to your sound.
Is it time to go Digital? - these are very versatile consoles with a huge range of operations - almost everything you need is built in!
