Graphic Equalisers are essential!

Ignore the room at your peril!

Q. Graphics are a luxury aren’t they? Not an essential like monitors or speakers?

A. Graphics are integral to good sound re-inforcement. The mixer, mics etc are all instruments in that they contribute to the sound. Perhaps the most significant instrument is the room itself! Graphic EQ’s addresses the ‘acoustic signature’ of the room, equalising the resonant peaks and troughs in the room - the benefits are no less than dramatic
- more gain before feedback
- mixer EQ’s are more accurate and effective
- radically improves intelligibility

Q. OK How do I set up a graphic?

A. Graphic EQ’s are not tone controls. Graphics are best set with a spectrum analyser. (DM Music will do this as part of an installation.) Some units have built-in analysers or feedback eliminators.

The DAC came today as expected and were very impressed indeed. They said they thought it was the best installation of a projector and screen that they had ever seen in a medieval church.
